World Up and Reform School

BY , March 2, 2011

Last October we brought our friend Lupe Fiasco in to help us create a Living Remix Project Session for an amazing pop up art exhibition in lower Manhattan called Re:Form School.

At the same time we reached out to producers and remixer in Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai, Istanbul, and Johannesburg to take the music our students were creating and remix it live. As students created tracks we uploaded them onto the live studio platform Indaba and our remix posse started to reinterpret the sounds.

After Lupe’s 3 hour session turned into 5 hours and we had to drag him away. We chatted with him about a longterm plan this became the impetus for our latest project W.U. School (aka WUniversity)
